Two Bradenton Men Charged with Sexual Abuse Involving Special Needs Adults
Two Bradenton men have been arrested on charges of sexual abuse involving special needs adults.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office arrested the men, 25 and 30, Tuesday.
The 25-year-old was charged with three counts of sexual battery on an adult. The alleged victims are 25, 29, and 50-year-old males, officials said.
The alleged victims are special needs adults and the man was supposedly their support coach. Officials said the man worked at several group homes over the past 12 years.
The 30-year-old man was charged with one count of lewd and lascivious battery on a teen victim and four counts of lewd and lascivious molestation on a teen. He is also charged with one count of sexual battery on an adult. The alleged victims are 14 and 29-year-old males, officials said.
According to the report, the man had no affiliation with the group homes.
During the investigation, detectives discovered allegations of fraud committed by the two suspects. Those allegations are being investigated by the office of the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
The investigations are ongoing and additional charges are pending.
