Secret Service Agent Arrested in Undercover Sex Sting

A uniformed Secret Service agent was arrested Thursday for allegedly sending a nude photograph to someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

According to a CNN report, Delaware State Police apparently caught the agent in an undercover sting operation, after he allegedly sent several messages to an officer posing as a young girl.

Some of the messages were reportedly sent from the White House grounds.

The incident is the latest casualty for the Secret Service, whose reputation has been tarnished over the past two years by a series of scandals involving agent misconduct.

The agent allegedly requested meetings and sexual encounters with the state trooper who was posing as the girl.

Reports indicate that he asked the following in one of the messages: “What would make you more nervous, riding on the motorcycle with me or having sex with me?”

The agent reportedly turned himself into authorities on Monday. He has been charged with attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.

The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“Sexting” is now a common phrase used to describe sending pornographic images through cellular devices. When a person under the age of 18 is photographed, regardless of consent, the acts of both taking the photo and sending it to another person are illegal.
