A doctor, a pharmacist, a pharmaceutical salesman and a retired IRS agent were just a few of the individuals arrested in a weekend sting by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office targeting alleged online ads for prostitution.

Police claim the 47 people arrested responded to Internet advertisements for prostitution. Most were living in or visiting Polk County when they were arrested.

This undercover sting combined with a previous bust conducted Feb. 23 and 24 netted a total of 66 people charged with prostitution-related crimes by Polk deputies within about two weeks.
