One of Americas Most Wanted Arrested in San Francisco

A Palm Beach County, Florida man who was featured on “America’s Most Wanted” in March for his connection with sex crimes remains in a San Francisco jail. Police arrested the man after he allegedly attempted to steal a cell phone and other items from a strip club.

After he was booked in jail, police realized he was wanted in West Palm Beach for failing to register as a sex offender, indecent exposure and violation of parole.

U.S. marshals were led to an apartment in New Orleans through tips after the show featuring the man aired, but he was already gone. According to authorities, he had been using an alias and working in an Italian restaurant.

From 2009 to 2010, the Florida Parole Commission made 1, 469 parole release decisions. According to their data, 97 percent of Florida parolees have successfully completed their supervision with no revocation within the first two years. Parole can occur after a defendant serves prison time and has shown appropriate behavior deemed necessary for a parole hearing. A sex offender can be subject to parole in Florida by meeting several conditions: following prison rules and regulations while incarcerated, the defendant’s release would not mitigate the seriousness of the crime and the defendant’s release would not jeopardize the community.

Failing to meet the requirements of registering as a sex offender can violate parole conditions and result in immediate arrest. Violating your terms of parole by failing to register can result in being sent back to prison for up to 15 years, depending on the circumstances. Being released on parole is considered a privilege and not a right, so it is crucial that parolees remain in compliance with Florida laws to avoid strict consequences.
