Man Accused of Inappropriate Touching at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man swimming at Walt Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon with molesting four teenage girls at the water park.
One of the children notified Disney employees of being fondled by a man as others played in the wave pool, according to reports.
One of the girls claims she was “doggie paddling” when the accused allegedly stood close to her and rubbed her leg. The girls said they saw him doing the same to two other girls in the water and reported what happened to a deputy working off-duty security.
The deputy apparently saw the 54-year-old man in an argument with an unidentified person and the other two girls, according to reports.
The man was arrested on charges of battery and lewd and lascivious molestation of victims under 18 years old. According to state records, this is the first time the man has been arrested in Florida. He bonded out of the Orange County Jail late Monday.
Inappropriate touching is classified as fondling another person or asking to be touched in an area of the body that could be considered sexual in nature. The severity of a crime like lewd and lascivious molestation can vary based on many factors, including the age of the alleged victim and the alleged act in question.
