High School Teacher Arrested

A Lake County high school teacher who is accused of having sex with a student in his classroom has been reassigned, according to school officials.

The 41-year-old teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The man bonded out of jail Saturday after he appeared before a judge in the Lake County Jail to have the charges read to him and for the judge to set the bond amount in the case. The judge ordered the man not to have contact with the victim.

A 17-year-old student told authorities that the man messaged her on the adult website AdultFriendFinder.com last year. The girl was apparently a student in the man’s class the year before.

The girl told detectives that the man picked her up one night last November and the two had sex in his classroom.

The man was interviewed by detectives Thursday. He allegedly admitted to being in the company of the teen after meeting her on the adult site, but denied the sexual activity, according to reports.

On Saturday, school officials said that the man has been reassigned and will not have contact with the students during the investigation.
