Eustis Man Accused of Having Sex with Girl He Met on Take Your Child to Work Day

A 26-year-old man is facing a child sexual battery charge after Lake County investigators allege he had sex with a girl he had met on a Take Your Child to Work Day.

The Eustis man was booked into the Lake County Jail on Monday afternoon on charges of unlawful sexual battery with certain minors, according to an arrest affidavit.

According to the Sheriff’s Office report, the man was a trainee at a Publix Supermarket in Eustis when he met the 16-year-old girl. She told detectives that they met on September 29, a Take Your Child to Work Day.

The man is accused of corresponding with the girl and later took her to his home, where they allegedly engaged in sex, the affidavit said.

Detectives claim the man initially denied the claim but then said the sexual encounter was consensual.
