A 39-year-old Jacksonville Beach mother was being held in Columbus, Ga., Saturday, awaiting extradition to Jacksonville after allegedly trading her 6-year-old daughter for drugs.
Police claim the woman sold her daughter to two men in Jacksonville Beach, Florida in exchange for crack cocaine.
Police issued a warrant for her arrest last week.
The Department of Children and Families is investigating the case. The child has been placed in their custody and is apparently receiving therapy and counseling.
The two men accused of having sex with the child have been charged with rape. One of the men, 47, has allegedly been arrested in Duval County at least 12 times. The other, 56, has allegedly been arrested seven times. Both men were being held in Duval County jail on no bond.
According to Jacksonville Beach police, the woman has no local record. Police plan to pick her up in Muscogee County this week.
