In addition to prison time, a person convicted of sexual battery in Florida may face mandatory registration as a sex offender. Sex offender registration alone is the one of the most severe consequences of any sex crime conviction. This requires a person to supply his or her name, image, address and description of offense to local law enforcement. In turn, the public can view this information online through the national sex offender registry or at local police stations.
